From the organizers of two locally harvested festivals – Chili & Beer Festival and Vinotok
We wish you a beautiful upcoming fall season! As you are most likely aware, due to the Bud Lite event on the weekend of September 5 – 7, the Chili & Beer Festival has been relocated to September 20, which also happens to be Vinotok Day. As the organizers of these two festivals, we have been collaborating on how to bring participants the best and safest experience possible.
Be cool! Please take note that those who are obnoxious, unruly, uncouth, destructive, disruptive, immature and generally mindless to maintaining themselves in public will not be tolerated. Police will be out in full force helping us to deter any irresponsible behavior. Tickets will be given where necessary. There will be no toxic items, hazardous materials or idiots running through the Vinotok fire. There will be no one allowed mumming inside the restaurants who is not an official member of the Vinotok Theatre Troupe.
Be fed! The Chili & Beer Festival will be offering some wonderful food opportunities in addition to the chili tasting so be sure to fuel your body! Additionally, go out to a Crested Butte restaurant to feed your body between 5 and 7:30 p.m. You’ll get a chance to see the mumming play inside the restaurants. Stay hydrated with Acli-Mate at Chili and Beer and remember to drink water.
Be safe! Chili & Beer and Vinotok have compiled a list of safe rides available for this day. Please keep yourself, our community and the longevity of our festivals safe. Organize a ride ahead of time. Designate a driver. Plan to spend the night in Crested Butte or Mt. Crested Butte with a friend. Please do not endanger others by drunk driving.
Be conscientious! If you plan on camping after the festivities, or attending a party in the woods, please keep in mind that these are festivals that are celebrating fall and the changing of the seasons. Don’t do harm to our natural environment in your stay. Clean up after yourself. Love the Mother – she’s the only one we’ve got.
Be community minded! If you see someone behaving inappropriately please let them know that this is unappreciated. The Vinotok Theatre Troupe has found it helpful to explain to folks how their actions threaten the very existence of the festival. Take it upon yourself to help create a safe environment for all of us.
Thank you for your assistance in keeping our communities safe, our festivals alive, and our environment intact.
